Giving What We Can

This seems like a good way to encourage people to make significant contributions to helping tackling poverty. The web site also has useful resources to help decide on the most effective charities.

I have just calculated and

normally I give just over 2% of my after-tax income per month to charity, and on a month where I've spent more for some reason (say £100 to the Ashmolean rebuild, as we did recently) then it may be as much as 6%. But I have never sat and worked out which are the most _cost effective_ charities to give to in the way that Toby's site does. I could certainly give more than I do without worrying about it, and I could add some of the charities that are suggested, but I'm not sure about committing to 10%-plus per se.
