On Wednesday morning, I woke up with the phrase "Strunk and White" going round and round my head. I remember it had been an important reference work for something I'd been doing in the dream. I had no idea what it was, but it seemed so realistic, that I checked Google, and sure enough "Strunk and White" is a standard work on English usage. It had obviously been in my subconscious somewhere, but I had no conscious recollection of that book. The worrying thing was that maybe my subconscious had spotted an error in my thesis during the previous night's printing and was checking the reference book in my dream.
